L’emploi contre l’asthme est classé REC sur la base de l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté dans les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de toxicité, de validation et l’information scientifique disponible.

L’asthme étant dangereux pour la santé, il est recommandé de consulter un médecin au préalable. L’usage de cette médication doit être considéré comme complémentaire du traitement médical sauf contre-indication. Aucune information n’est disponible sur l’usage de cette médication lors d’une crise d’asthme.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou que l’asthme persiste pendant plus de 2 jours ou la crise d’asthme pendant plus d’une heure, consulter un médecin.

L’emploi contre le rhume est classé REC basé sur l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté dans les enquêtes TRAMIL et les études de toxicité.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si le rhume persiste pendant plus de 7 jours, consulter un médecin.

Ne pas utiliser à fortes doses pendant une période prolongée par voie orale. Prendre en compte les possibles interactions avec des médicaments antidiabétiques, diurétiques et antiarythmiques7. Éviter son ingestion en cas de diabète mellitus8.

L’emploi contre la calvitie, les coupures, les éraflures et les cloques sur la peau est classé REC basé sur l’usage significatif traditionnel documenté dans les enquêtes TRAMIL et l’information scientifique disponible.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si les affections persistent pendant plus de 5 jours, consulter un médecin.

Toute application topique doit se conformer à de strictes mesures d’hygiène qui empêcheront contamination ou infection surajoutée.

Le gel peut provoquer des réactions d’hypersensibilité. Ne pas l’employer s’il a pris une couleur rougeâtre.

L’emploi topique pendant une période de temps prolongée peut développer des réactions allergiques incluant l’urticaire et l’éruption cutanée du type eczéma et peut augmenter l’absorption de crèmes comportant des stéroïdes tels que l’hydrocortisone7.

Ne pas administrer pendant la grossesse, en période d’allaitement ni à des enfants de moins de 5 ans.

Pour l’obtention de gel éviter le contact avec le jus jaune que produit la couche verte qui l’enveloppe car il peut entraîner des réactions d’hypersensibilité de la peau ou avoir un effet laxatif par voie orale.

Contre l’asthme ou le rhume :
Peler la feuille et liquéfier 1-2 cuillerées (15-30 grammes) du suc (gel, pulpe ou mésophylle) dans 1 tasse (250 millilitres) d’eau. Boire 1 tasse 1 à 2 fois par jour.

Ou préparer une décoction ou une infusion avec 1-2 cuillerées (15-30 grammes) du suc (gel, pulpe ou mésophylle) dans 1 tasse (250 millilitres) d’eau. Pour la décoction faire bouillir pendant 10 minutes, dans un récipient couvert. Pour l’infusion, ajouter l’eau bouillante aux 1-2 cuillerées (15-30 grammes) de gel, couvrir. Pour les deux préparations, laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 1 tasse 2 fois par jour.

Pour l’emploi contre la calvitie, les coupures, éraflures et cloques sur la peau :
Laver et peler la feuille, prendre 15-30 grammes (1-2 cuillerées) de gel et appliquer sur la peau de la zone affectée ou sur le cuir chevelu, 2 fois par jour.

Toute préparation médicinale doit être conservée au froid et utilisée dans les 24 heures

L’emploi contre la conjonctivite, coupure, petite plaie et mycose plantaire et les douleurs d’oreille est classé REC sur la base de l’expérience traditionnelle documenté par son usage significatif dans les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de toxicité, de validation et l'information scientifique publiée.

Toute application sur les yeux doit se conformer aux plus strictes mesures d’hygiène, pour empêcher une contamination ou une infection supplémentaire et éviter le contact avec des substances irritantes.

En cas de conjonctivite, il y a un risque d’augmenter l’irritation par l’application du jus de Citrus spp.

Les douleurs d’oreille pouvant être causées par une otite moyenne ou interne, il est recommandé de consulter un médecin au préalable. Son emploi est contre-indiqué en cas de sécrétions dans l’oreille et/ou d’une éventuelle perforation du tympan.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou si la conjonctivite persiste plus de 3 jours, les douleurs d’oreille ou la fièvre plus de 2 jours, les coupures, petites plaies ou mycose interdigitale persistent plus de 5 jours, consulter un médecin.

L’emploi contre la toux et la diarrhée est classé REC sur la base de l’expérience traditionnelle documenté par son usage significatif dans les enquêtes TRAMIL, les études de toxicité et l'information scientifique publiée.

En cas de diarrhée, ce remède est complémentaire à une thérapie de réhydratation orale.

Si l’état du patient se détériore (deshydratation avec langue sèche, pli cutané persistant, oligurie ou pleurs sans larmes) consulter un médecin immédiatement. Si la diarrhée persiste plus de 2 jours ou la toux plus de 5 jours, consulter un médecin.

L’emploi contre le mal de tête, la fièvre et grippe est classé REC sur la base de l’expérience traditionnelle documenté par son usage significatif dans les enquêtes TRAMIL et les études de toxicité.

Si l’état du patient se détériore ou que le mal de tête persiste plus de 2 jours, la fièvre plus de 2 jours ou la grippe plus de 7 jours, consulter un médecin.

Ne pas employer avec des enfants de moins de 5 ans, ni avec des femmes enceintes ou allaitantes.

Le fruit et le jus de Citrus aurantiifolia constituent des aliments de consommation humaine relativement répandus et une source industrielle d’huiles essentielles.

Contre la conjonctivite ou les douleurs d'oreille :
Laver le fruit avec de l’eau bouillie et du savon, couper et appliquer 2 gouttes de jus frais sur la zone affectée.

Contre les coupures, petites plaies ou mycoses interdigitales :
Laver la lésion avec de l’eau bouillie et du savon, appliquer le jus de fruit sur la zone affectée. Couvrir avec une gaze ou un linge propre et changer toutes les 12 heures.

Contre le mal de tête, la grippe, les refroidissements ou la fièvre :
Préparer une décoction ou infusion avec 30 grammes de feuilles ou d'écorce du fruit dans 4 tasses (1 litre) d'eau. Pour la décoction, faire bouillir 5 minutes en récipient couvert. Pour l’infusion, ajouter de l’eau bouillante aux 30 grammes de feuilles ou d’écorce de fruit et couvrir. Laisser refroidir, filtrer et boire 4 tasses par jour.

Contre la grippe, les refroidissements, la toux ou la diarrhée :
Boire le jus naturel du fruit deux fois pas jour.
